Office "Warming"...

What an Office warming…

2 October 06…

Finally yesterday we had an office warming (Grand opening of the office) after one month of occupying the space. We had all the food and drinks sorted out, layout and ready waiting for the guest to arrive. We actually loaned plates, bowls, forks and the rest of the cutleries from this restaurant right below of our office. Haha Talk about cheap skate boss haha. So a colleague and I ended up carrying all the cutleries from the restaurant. Man we did not get paid for doing this. Talk about full use of resources haha

While waiting, guess what happen… the bloody electricity went dead. There was actually a shortage of electric power, AND on the day of the office warming itself… Sheesh… What can we do right. We had to improvise and we ended up having candles all around the office space, so the mood was romantic, just that there wasn’t any free show to see haha, oh well.

Can you imagine the heat in the office and the stench that came out of everyone due to the heat in the office since most of everyone came straight from work hehe... It wasnt pleasant i would say... There were two choices of drinks for that night, mango cordial or alcohol (Beer and whisky). YES everyone went alcoholic, so now !!! you know what i really meant when i say "Stench" Haha. I do not know if everyone noticed (some might be sleeping like pigs after a long day at work) that last night, it was pouring like mad cats and dogs with the wind howling like a wolf. However, during the office warming, not even a little gust of wind blew into the office. Damn...

So after introducing everyone to everyone, we ended up in our own little group of like minded people. (You know how people tend to grow slowly into their own groups of "clan" when they meet new people, so they just stay with those who they feel comfortable from the beginning.) You have one group of people who keeps drinking and smoking while talking out loud. In one part of the office, there is another group of people which comprises of family members hanging out and eating their dinner. On the outside balcony, there is another group of people who have just met each other yet talking to each other like best friends with all the hand gestures haha.

Then came the time to do toast for the office and the prosperity of the business, “A Chinese culture thingy”. We had a glass tower arranges with 30 champagne glasses, supposedly for champagne but then we had blue color non alcoholic soda water haha. Like I said earlier, cheap skate bosses haha. To top that up, we only had 3 bottles. Yes, you’ve guesses correctly, it was not enough to cover the whole tower of glass, it managed to only cover the first 2 ½ of the level haha. What an embarrassment hehe, but we manage to some how give everyone a few sip of the blue color non alcoholic soda water keke.

After all the toasting and the “Yam Seng” (Another Chinese thingy), some of the VIPs left and those still around were those who are still engrossed in the free flow of alcohol provided. Surprisingly my boss is not so cheap skate on the alcohol Hmmm… Then when it was my time to leave with a colleague of mine, the bloody electricity decided to come back on. Stupid power supply. By that time, most of everyone has already left the party and you know what… My boss ask my colleague and I to wash the plates, pack up and clean the place. WTF… Stupidity has just reached a new level in Malaysia. We were not paid to wash dishes. He could have just hired some caterers to pack and wash everything but no… Stingy bastard… When all was done I was dead tired man… “Ahh What An Office Warming”

What happen to good old conventional sports...

Sports are for the healthy living, thats what everyone says. So i presume that healthy living does not apply to all of "us" working class people that has just started working, straight out from university, 2 years experience and all low class position people (and some calls it designation for some reasons haha).

For all those that falls into the category above, we work like "dogs" just to survive and impatiently waiting for the end of the month pay slip to arrive so that we can have a decent meal and pay all the bills that had been incurring for the past two months or so. Even after paying for all the bills, our pay is not enough and we still work like "dog" haha. So how does sports for healthy living applies to us? By the time we get back form work and the long frustration of being stuck in traffic, we are already dead tired, so lets not talk about doing sport ya...

So what ever happen to good old conventional sports? Remember the time when we were all students in high school and college. The amount of time we make plan for sports, getting all sweat up and smell like raw fish from the market, weren't it the good old days. After all the exhaustion of sports, sitting in a coffee shop (usually mamak stalls), chatting, smoking, laughing and cursing everyones family in chinese haha.. Regardless of the tiredness, we still look forward to the next time when we are all going to meet up with one another to have a good time.

As for "us" (the mentioned above people keke), where do we find time for all this, unless you are a damn good student, when i say good it means straight 'A' student and you get a really good job and you really work 9 to 5 (For all of us, you know what i mean by "good" right haha). However, really good students will not play sports and smoke and curse everyones family in the mamak haha

Nowdays, people would prefer the gym compared to the good old conventional sports. Everyone i know seem to be so keen in joining the gym, however, they never last long enough haha... They usually join for about a few months and then thats it... no more.. One of the many reasons why people join the gym i guess is the way the publicity is implied. Like recently a friend of mine was selling this coupon for gym costing $25 one month free access to all the facility in all branches of the gym. So you can imagine the big eyes that went "wow that is cheap". Since everyone knows that monthly fees to join a gym is pretty expensive for a first class gym.

Surprisingly no one is willing to pay a mere few bucks to rent a court for conventional sports anymore but they are willing to pay few hundred bucks for gym. So it makes you wonder... what ever happens to conventional sports.

To be continue... Part 2 (Need more resource) HaHa...

Bloggin... The new trend...

Ah... Bloggin, the new trend of many internet users.

According to my housemate (homey), he says that blogging can be quite interesting and fun, so here I am trying this new hobby of his. I had never perceive bloggin as something fun, but then... I'm willing to try anything once and see how far I can go on with it.

For me I am more a writer then a typer. Even though I know that typing is much more faster then writing, I guess bloggin can pose a little problem since I don't have a computer or an internet connection at home. So I can only blog blog in the office... hehe

When it comes to bloggin, there is one thing that makes me wonder. You know how friends tend to say that they are busy with work, entertaining clients, colleagues and all that reasons beyond reasons thinggy, they some how manage to find time to be bloggin away haha. Funny aint it. The worst is when you call them one night and ask them what have they been up too, and you sit there for hours (at times) listening to how busy they are and stuff like that, that is why they don't call or meet you up for dinner. The following day you see that they have just posted a bloody long blog and you tell yourself, WTF haha

Oh well now I'm one of them (sob sob), like the old saying, "Can't beat em, join em". So here I am, trying bloggin haha.
